Wartowice Sandstone
The town of Wartowice in the Silesian region of western Poland is home to a delightful cognac coloured sandstone. Used for centuries on many projects in Poland and Germany, including Cathedrals and the “Victory Column” in Berlin, this stone is characterised by it’s rich yellow hue, often with banding and variegated tones.
Since the quarry’s reacquisition from the Polish state in 1993, this stone has found many stylish applications in modern architecture and can be used for façade cladding, external and internal flooring, and many other applications.
