Bewley’s Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s most iconic and celebrated landmarks, has reopened its doors. Following a multi-million-euro refurbishment, the much-loved café has been restored to create a bigger, brighter and better-than- ever customer experience.
Ethical Stone were commissioned as stone consultants on the project. We sourced and manufactured the large cake and food counters that run the entire length of the café. First quality Carrara marble is used in contrast with locally sourced fossil rich black limestone to create the impressive curved counters. The ancient oyster and coral fossils add natural details and movement to the dark limestone, adding to the lush visual quality of the new interior.
About Bewley’s Café
As well as serving the very best coffees and teas, many elements of the original café have been carefully restored including the Harry Clarke windows, the historic front façade of the café and the open fireplaces. There are also many new additions to the café including the complete refurbishment of Johnson’s Court and an expanded in-café bakery which allows visitors to see some of Europe’s finest pastry chefs and bakers create the unique and delicious treats on offer, including the beautiful Bewley’s Café Gourmand, Coffee Opera Cake and, original favourite, the Bewley’s Mary Cake.
