From early in the design stage we worked closely with the architect at Azumi Restaurant Group, advising on materials and sourcing a broad range of finishes – from terrazzo to timber.
The Japanese concept required scrupulous attention to detail especially with regards to the timber, which characterises the space. We spent many hours perfecting the timber textured finish to best represent the InkoNito brand, and used only natural oils and tints to achieve the final colour. The large format tables are 80mm thick, with some almost 5 metres in length in a single run.
For the cement terrazzo we developed a special exposed aggregate finish to provide the appearance of poured concrete whilst providing substantial anti-slip qualities.
Bespoke handmade tiles were sourced and manufactured in Portugal to provide rich colour to the columns within the restaurant.
Large format black anticato textured granite and honed Pietra Grey marble bar tops and worktops were sourced and selected from Italy by our team, then cut by waterjet at our partner’s facility in Bedford, before final installation which was carried out by our own stone professionals.
